Adult Retreats
A place apart…. Cathedral Ridge Camp and Retreat center offers you a respite, a calm, a place apart for you to get to know God’s still small voice.
God’s voice in the wind at the ridge. God’s voice through the trees. God’s voice at the edge of the Beaver pond in the trickling water. God’s voice in the crunch of boots along the labyrinth.
God’s peace which passes all understanding keeping your heart and mind in the knowledge and love of God, and of God’s son, Jesus Christ.
Come to a place apart from life’s busy-ness. Come and hear God’s voice.

Lenten Retreat: Virtual Pilgrimage of the holy land
March 14-16 2025
Deepen your Lenten experience by participating in a virtual pilgrimage of the Holy Land March 14-16. Led by Christian tour guide Canon Iyad Qumri from Jerusalem, the weekend experience will begin with a video welcome to Jerusalem from Archbishop Hosam Naoum, as he would if you were visiting the Cathedral Close in person.
Another video will give you a tour of the entire Cathedral Close, including the guesthouse where you might stay on pilgrimage—including the gardens and the dining and meeting rooms. From there, you will tour the Old City of Jerusalem, including the famous gates, the Cardo, the Western Wall, the Temple Mount, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. As you progress on this journey, you will be given time to pause, reflect, meditate, and pray as you walk in the footsteps of and learn more about the ministry of Jesus. The most profound aspect of this part of the tour will be praying the Stations of the Cross while “walking” the Via Dolorosa.
You will also visit Bethlehem—Church of the Nativity—and Sepphoris, believed to be the birthplace of the Virgin Mary.
When not taking in the sites or soaking in prayer, retreat participants will enjoy the beauty and tranquility of our Diocesan retreat center, Cathedral Ridge. Encompassing 160 acres of beautiful woodland, meadows, and streams, just north of Pikes Peak and surrounded by the pristine Pike National Forest, Cathedral Ridge offers comfortable accommodations and great food, affording a fabulous place to commune with the Divine.
The retreat will begin with a 4:00 PM check-in on Friday and end after lunch on Sunday. The all-inclusive price for food, lodging, and program is $395 for a single room, $275 for double occupancy. Partial scholarships are available through the Bishop’s office.
Bio of canon Iyad Qumri
Canon Iyad Qumri is an independent Christian tour guide licensed by the State of Israel to lead pilgrimages in the Holy Land.
He was born in Jerusalem, grew up in the Holy Land, attended schools there and—most importantly—still lives there with his family. He met and married his wife, Simone, in Jerusalem, and that is where their two sons Sami and Rami were born. Sami met and married his wife Snjezana there, and now the whole family works hand-in-hand in the tour business.
Professionally, Iyad has led tours for more than thirty years, guiding pilgrims from several denominations including Catholic, Episcopalian, and Methodist. Many of his groups return a couple of years later bringing friends and family with them, which he considers a tremendous compliment. Another honor was being named a Canon in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles in 2008.
Abound Retreats
for Episcopal Church Leaders
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 15:13
Join with others who share your call. Come for a time of regathering, reconnecting, and reflecting on how ministries are changing and leaders are adapting. These 3-day, 2-night retreats are made possible by regional grants. Your time away begins mid-afternoon on the first day and concludes with lunch on the third day.
Children and Youth Leaders Retreat
September 5-7, 2025
Come spend time in the beauty of Cathedral Ridge with your fellow children and youth leaders before the start of the busy formation school year. Gather for formation and fellowship around the camp fire, relax and take in the crisp mountain air, and swap curriculum ideas, tips, and brainstorm with people who understand your ministry best! Volunteer or paid staff, this retreat is open to all who work with children and youth as a chance to help each other navigate the ever-changing ministry landscape.
Music Leaders retreat
September 15-17, 2025
Gather with fellow music leaders for a time of reflection and renewal. This year’s retreat will focus on self-care and intentional stress management, especially as the busy seasons of Advent and Christmas draw near. Additionally, hear how God has been working in and through music ministries around the diocese, and imagine new ways of shepherding your community to “make a joyful noise to the Lord” (Ps. 98:4).
Care of Creation Retreat
September 26-28, 2025
Join us as we explore new ways of living in relationship with God’s creation, as individuals and as congregations. Our goal is for retreat participants to come away empowered, encouraged, inspired, and connected—prepared to see through a new lens and engage in new ways of being that are grounded in our Christian theology. Through worship and prayer, presentations and reflection, and building a strong community of creation care advocates, we will come to understand what creation care means in each of our unique contexts. We will embrace the paradox of living as a people of hope while facing the immense challenges of our planetary home.
More Abound Retreats for 2025 will be announced soon! We look forward to hosting you.
The Abound Retreats for Episcopal Clergy and Lay Leaders are made possible by grant funding from the Regions of the Episcopal Church in Colorado. Thank you to the Regions for your financial partnership!
