Youth Camps

Youth camps are a wonderful opportunity to connect with God and experience Christian community in a non-church setting. Each week is designed for a different age group and with a different approach – but all intend to build faith in a fun and safe environment.

Each day includes worship and Bible study, as well as outdoor activities like hiking, a challenge course and zip line, and gaga ball. Can it get any better than faith, friendship, and fresh mountain air?

Rising 3rd-10th graders

This multiage youth camp is especially for young people who feel drawn to activities and practices that cultivate beauty in the church and the world. There will be two distinct tracks: a Choir track led by Joel Trekell, Music Director and Organist at Grace and St. Stephens, and an Art track, led by Tina Clark, Director of Christian Formation at St. John’s Cathedral. We are excited to welcome these young creatives to Cathedral Ridge, where they will have ample opportunities to hone their craft, make new friends, and enjoy classic camp activities like field games, campfire, and s’mores.

$450 per camper. Scholarships are available.

Ten Things Your Camper Will Experience at Camp

  1. New Ways of Honoring God’s Image in Others
We practice asking preferred names and pronouns when we meet new people. Whether a camper or counselor goes by a legal name or a preferred name or desires she/her, he/him, they/them, we believe that all persons are created in God’s image and deeply loved just as they are. One way we honor this is to honor that individual’s chosen name and identity.

  2. Plenty of Running, Hiking, Exploring, and Time Outdoors
We value the Earth and all the life upon it. We strive to share a philosophy of creation care and love for God’s kingdom as much as possible throughout your camper’s experience. This is one of the deeply held values of The Episcopal Church.

  3. Episcopal Worship, Led by People of All Ages
We are an Episcopal Church camp, a ministry of the Episcopal Church in Colorado! You do not have to be an Episcopalian to attend our camps, but we do participate in collaborative youth-led worship.

  4. A Sore Stomach from Laughing So Hard!
We love to laugh, play games, have talent shows, dress silly, sing, and dance!

  5. Delicious Food and Snacks Served Communally
All meals are shared together in dining halls unless a group is off-site. We can accommodate Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free and Vegetarian needs at every meal and snack time. Please let us know about your camper’s need BEFORE camp. We do not allow any products that contain nuts on our campus, and especially during camp sessions because of food allergies please do not pack snacks!

  6. A Chance to Learn More About Yourself and the World at Large
We strive to welcome all persons into Cathedral Ridge, and actively seek a diversity of campers and staff. This means your camper will meet persons of differing abilities, genders, gender expressions, races and ethnicities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses, and home lives, to name a few areas. We welcome all as children of God, and hope that you and your camper will as well.

  7. Awesome, Heart-Filling, Unconditional Acceptance, and Love
We love all persons, and together at Cathedral Ridge and we create a community of love, belonging, and acceptance.

  8. Safe Risk-Taking (Emotionally, Physically, & Spiritually)
We work diligently and empower our staff to create a safe space for campers to try new activities, eat new foods, make new friends, and learn new aspects about themselves and their world. We believe that in vulnerability lies the strength to grow.

  9. Plenty of “Unplugged” Time Away in Shared Community
We encourage connection with others at Cathedral Ridge and the world around us as our way to create a community in Christ. We encourage all guests to leave their phones in their rooms and engage with others without the distraction of technology.

  10. A Desire to Return Next Year!
We aspire to inspire our campers to return to Cathedral Ridge and hope that they will one day consider serving in a leadership role in future summers.
